Summer at a glance

 We decided to build a deck on the other side of the screened in porch. Got it all dug out, the sidewalk ripped out and changed our minds. Oh well. It was really good exercise.

A few thoughts

On this holiday weekend, almost 4th of July, I am here thinking......

1. I am so glad Ed is home, he was called out to fix a plane with 2 hrs notice. Luckily he was gone only a little over 24 hrs, location was drivable. However he has only slept a few hours.

2. I am so grateful for all the people in our history and present and future that serve our country in any way. I could not have all of the wonderful things I have if I didn't live here.

3. My family is really fantastic..... my house is completely trashed because for the past 3 days we have all been playing and having fun together.

All in all, I guess today I am just feeling very thankful for the things that I have in my life. Life is not always easy but it is an adventure all the same!

Season pusher

Last week we had a few days of warm weather and I found this little guy next to our empty wood pile.

All the other daffodils are still just a short group of leaves just poking out of the ground.
Of course it is now picked and dying on our kitchen table, because when you have children, flowers don't grow in the ground for very long.

Goals and such

This year I made a goal to increase the intensity and frequency of my workouts. We went and purchased the EA active "game" for the Wii. It is awesome and would recommend it to anyone!

I decided that this wasn't enough. A friend of mine just started running and runs at about my pace ( a jog). We have ran together once and are trying to do it more frequently. It is the first time I have run outside in the winter. I am pretty proud of myself. The 1st time we went 2.3 miles. I was a little sore the next day but not too bad. I an hoping that I will learn to enjoy running.

Worst part: The wind, and the ice. We had to do a lot of running in the middle of the road.
Best part: The smell, I love the smell of outside. The confidence that it gave me that I can do it without dying!

I apologize

I am sorry for not posting in so long. Things have been nuts.
We own the house. We closed on June 1st. We are currently landscaping. It's been a lot of work! Anya's room is painted and now we need to decorate it. Kevin's is next and the downstairs. I can't wait, but I am saving some projects to keep me busy during the winter. I promise I will update with past events, etc. soon. I just wanted you all to know that I am alive, I swear.
